Stencil transfer & tattoo vaseline FAQ

How do I apply tattoo stencil transfer gel?

Shave the area and clean it with green soap or your usual skin prep, then let it dry. Apply a thin, even layer of transfer gel, place the thermal stencil and press firmly for 10–15 seconds before peeling it off in one motion. Let the stencil dry for a few minutes before lining.

How long should a tattoo stencil dry before tattooing?

The formula is fast drying, so a few minutes is usually enough to start. On large pieces and long sessions, give it extra time to set for the most durable stencil.

Why does my stencil smudge or fade during the session?

The usual causes are too much transfer product, too little drying time or skin that wasn’t fully clean and dry. Use a thin layer, let it set, and apply a thin layer of tattoo vaseline over the dry stencil to protect it while you wipe.

Does it work with thermal printers and hand-drawn stencils?

Yes. It works with stencils made on thermal stencil paper (thermal copier or printer) and with hand-traced hectograph stencils.

Tube or pump: which stencil transfer should I choose?

The tube (50, 100 or 200 ml) is the fast-drying formula for everyday work. The airless pump (100 or 250 ml) is the long-sessions formula with fresh coconut scent, made for sleeves, back pieces and multi-hour work, with a dispenser that keeps the station cleaner.

Tattoo vaseline or tattoo butter: what’s the difference?

Tattoo vaseline creates a protective barrier for needle glide and stencil protection, and keeps the skin hydrated during and after the tattoo. Tattoo butter is richer, with shea butter, and helps soothe the skin during long sessions. Many artists use both.

How long does shipping take? Do you have studio pricing?

Orders are prepared within 24–48 working hours. Delivery in 2–4 working days in mainland Spain, 3–5 in the Balearic Islands and 4–8 across the rest of Europe and the UK. Free delivery in Spain over €45. We do not currently ship to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla. Studios buying in volume can ask for trade pricing on the contact page.

What if the stencil goes on wrong?

That is what the Stencil Eraser is for: spray over the transfer, wait a few seconds and wipe it off with paper. The skin is left clean and ready to transfer again, with no residue or irritation.
